• About

The story of Eddie Edwards, the notoriously tenacious British underdog ski jumper who charmed the world at the 1988 Winter Olympics.

• Pass/Fail

Pass: The unapologetic underdog who never won anything, this British comedy is a shameless crowd-pleaser. You fall in love with the character and cringe at the easy go-attitude to the daring jumps. You get really involved with the story.. is it 1988 again?

Fail: A lot of this film is supposedly made for Hollywood, which is a shame.. is the real story not good enough?

• Standout Performance

Taron Egerton brings the lovable underdog Eddie Edwards to life!

• Who Will Like This?

Billy Elliot fans, Winter Olympic fans.. people who love to see a film about an underdog.

• See It Now or Wait?

Either.. its not a huge film.. but seeing it in the cinema makes the cringing jumps much more real.

• Highlight

Every jump which puts you on the edge of your seat. Hugh Jackman’s jump is probably the coolest!

• Overall Impression

It’s a terrific if yet embellished true story about a young boy who dreams of becoming an Olympian. It is a definite crowd pleaser and surpriser.. Much better than I thought it’d be.
