GHOSTBUSTERS – Trailer
I ain’t afraid of no new footage. There’s more for fans to love (or gripe about) in a new international trailer for “Ghostbusters.”
The film is a female-led revisited version of the 1984 comedy starring Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd as a paranormal-stomping team of ghost catchers.
There is a whole lot of overlap with the original trailer that shows off the fresh phantom-fighting group played by Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones, Melissa McCarthy and Kate McKinnon. The throwback glowing ghost special effects and green goo evoke the look of the original films.
The international trailer comes courtesy of Sony Pictures Releasing Australia, so it’s no wonder that the Melbourne-born Chris Hemsworth gets a bigger chunk of the action than he did in the first full trailer.
Hemsworth plays Kevin, a hastily hired receptionist who gets the job initially based on his rugged good looks. Wiig’s character seems to be particularly enamored of him.
The international trailer includes more sight gags, like Wiig attempting to open a door the wrong way just as we’re introduced to her scientific brilliance. A scene later on shows Jones going in for a failed crowdsurfing attempt.
There’s enough new footage here to make the trailer a must-watch for anyone excited about the film. “Ghostbusters” opens internationally in theaters in July.
I’m still not sure about this though.. they need some of the originals in to make it a hit! Come on Bill Murray cameo! 😀
