GOT Season 6 Teaser Trailer

HBO is revving up the “Game of Thrones” anticipation machine. After releasing a batch of revealing photos from the upcoming season (see here), the hit show’s sixth, the network unveiled a cryptic teaser that will likely fuel even more speculation about who’s dead, who isn’t, and who is going to die.

The teaser puts us in the Hall of Faces below the House of Black and White in Braavos, where Arya Stark had gone to train to become a Faceless Man, an elite assassin in this world. We hear voices from the past while seeing their death masks — Ned Stark, Catelyn Stark, Jon Snow, Joffrey Baratheon.

But there are a few living characters whose faces grace the wall, including Tyrion Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen. Could this be a sign that Jon Snow might not be dead after all, as so many suspect? Or is it just a very “Game of Thrones” way of telling the audience not to get too attached to characters, no matter how important, that everyone will end up dead one day?

The sixth season premiere of “Game of Thrones” debuts April 24.
