Avatar Release Dates For 2nd, 3rd and 4th Instalments
There’s been word of there being a sequel for years now, with it being planned to come out in 2014… but that didn’t happen. But James Cameron, the director, has since said that the plan is to film the next three films of the franchise simultaneously and release one every year – the next coming out at Christmas time 2017.
Speaking about the next film (and the other two), he said:
“Christmas of ’17 is the target,
At least, that’s what we’ve announced. But I don’t consider that to be as important as the fact that when we get all three films done, we drop them a year apart. I call it a meta-narrative that runs across the three movies.
Each film stands alone, but it also tells one much larger story.”
He went on to say…
“It’s been about a two-year task. We’ve finished all the creatures and the landscapes, and the new worlds within the world of Pandora that you see.
The writing is ongoing, but almost finished. Technical development is done. Stages are done. Infrastructure. So we’re really poised to start after the first of the year.”
Not much is known about the film but we can expect to see Sam Worthington and Sigourney Weaver making a comeback (which is weird because didn’t she get killed in the first one?).
Apparently, we can also expect something seriously impressive… which is good.
“I can tell you one thing about them, they’re gonna be bitchin’,
You will s**t yourself with your mouth wide open”
Fingers crossed he’s talking figuratively!
