Derek Zoolander’s new fragrance campaign
EXCLUSIVE: Derek Zoolander’s new fragrance campaign
It seems Derek Zoolander has been busy since he last graced our screens – even bringing out a new fragrance.
We joke of course, but new details about Zoolander II have been revealed including the release date! The film will be shown in cinemas nationwide on 12 February 2016.
The official poster for the sequel has also been released. Derek and Hanz give us a lesson in the perfect selfie.
Previous Zoolander 2 news:
The Zoolander II trailer is here and it’s awesome.
If you’re in need of some Monday morning cheer, this is the ultimate solution – 118 seconds of pure unarguable joy.
It starts with a Stephen Hawking-esque lecture on cosmology, before cutting through to everyone’s favourite academically challenged male model. And frankly his Blue Steel never looked so good.
“If God exists,” Zoolander asks, “then why did he make ugly people?”
Later he struggles with the title of the sequel, 2oolander, but no matter – he’s wearing head-to-toe Saint Laurent, so who cares?
The film itself is due for release on 12 February 2016 and takes place 10 years after the original film. The new cast stars Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, as well as newcomers Penelope Cruz, Justin Bieber and Kristin Wiig.
Prepare yourselves – Justin Bieber is making a cameo in Zoolander 2 with Ben Stiller.
Here’s the proof…
Justin Bieber is so hot right now, apparently. Ben Stiller posted this black-and-white pic of JB giving Derek his best “blue steel” pose.
We don’t know all that much about Justin Bieber’s role in the new movie – we just know that his spiky hair is a wig. Phew!
Penelope Cruz has been pictured on the set of Zoolander 2 looking smokin’.
Dressed in a red leather catsuit (very much like Britney Spears circa 2000) and spiked Louboutin heels, the actress was seen with Ben Stiller in Rome as the pair film the long-awaited sequel.
There is still no word on who Cruz plays, although pictures do show her jumping on a motorbike so we can expect something seriously action-packed. She joins a cast which includes Kristen Wiig, Olivia Munn, Kim Kardashian and even Kanye West.
In March, Stiller, who deserves our adoration for all of time, joined actor Owen Wilson at the finale of the Valentino catwalk show where they both adopted their Zoolander personas and offered their best Blue Steel facial expressions.
Zoolander 2 is set to hit cinemas on 12 February 2016.
Ben Stiller posted an on-set snap to Instagram yesterday, showing him driving around Italy and ‘Blue Steel-ing’ with a new character… Yes, meet Derek Zoolander’s son.
The cast are currently busy shooting Zoolander 2, and the really, really, really, ridiculously good-looking model’s son is played by relatively unknown up-and-comer, Cyrus Arnold. Judging by Zoolander Jr.’s lack of ‘Magnum’, questionable hair and fairly standard school uniform (with no customised pleather panels or sequinned embellishments??) we’re guessing he’s unlikely to be following his father’s footsteps into the fashion industry…
Zoolander 2, directed by Justin Theroux, is set to hit cinemas early 2016. While Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are confirmed, there hasn’t been word yet on other characters, such as Will Ferrell’s Mugatu.
But we live in hope.
Zoolander 2 is back:
Zoolander 2 is back – and we for one can’t wait. Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell will all return for the sequel, as will Ben Stiller’s wife Christine Taylor.
New cast members for the sequel include Penelope Cruz. Yes, THE Penelope Cruz. And model/entrepreneur Karlie Kloss.
An insider has revealed that the 22-year-old supermodel, who has just left her position as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, is definitely on board for the film, and apparently Gigi Hadid was offered a role but turned it down. Surely not!?
The source reveals that other models on the short list to appear in the hotly anticipated movie include Naomi Campbell, Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn and Alessandra Ambrosio. The film is currently in production and set to hit cinemas 12 February 2016.
Zoolander 2 will be released 15 years after the first movie and Ben Stiller will return to the director’s chair. Interestingly, Jennifer Aniston’s beau Justin Theroux wrote the script.
Mayor of Rome Ignazio Marino has announced that the sequel will shoot for 12 weeks in and around the famed Cinecittà Studios.
The Valentino Catwalk:
Fashion news we didn’t expect to write today: Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson strut the Valentino catwalk during Paris Fashion Week and hang out with the fashion pack. What’s the dealio, yo!?
Move over Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne – Han-Solo and Boo-Lander are back, and they mean business.
After months of keeping us guessing, Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller officially announced Zoolander 2 today, and in the best way possible – by making a surprise appearance at the end of the Valentino show during Paris Fashion Week. They also posed backstage with Vogue‘s Anna Wintour.
Back in December, Owen Wilson opened up about the possibility of a sequel during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres. “Well, I don’t mean to be coy, but I know that there’s a script and Ben is considering it. So we’ll see,” he said before adding, “We have to do it.”
Talking about the sequel back in 2010, Ben Stiller revealed that this installment would focus on how much the modeling world has changed since Zoolander and his nemesis, Hansel (Wilson), fought for the catwalk.
“In the fashion world, if you go away for a year, it’s changed-it just happens so quickly,” he told MTV. “I think the idea in the beginning of the movie is that it’s 10 years later, and Derek and Hansel are literally forgotten. Nobody remembers who they are, so they have to reinvent themselves.”
We think they just did.
