CH4 Humans – Persona Synthetics ad
Persona Synthetics ad for Humans could be the best TV promo ever! Its convinced hundreds of people it is real and made them so nervous they complained!.. So the first edit of the trailer had to be changed to show Sally is a machine and a TV show (not real!) .. and of course its been done by Ch4! They are so clever!!
There is even an eBay listing where users can pick up at Sally Synth for £20,000!
This Persona Synthetics ad is captivating and really offers an insight into our future..? It is set as a parallel now. Which is creepy!
Sally Synth – who is billed as ‘a teacher, a helper, a friend’ – it suggests every household should have a new generation Synthetic Human in their house.
According to the site her 4CX-CNS processor makes it all possible and Sally’s functions include childcare, cooking and personal training.
Persona Synthetics state this is “not just an appliance but a deeply personal lifestyle choice: your Synth is the help you’ve always wanted.”
“All models are fully documented and exhaustively tested before sale, with full service histories provided. At Persona, your peace of mind isn’t an optional extra.
“Persona Synthetics take no responsibility for the actions of synths that have not had the latest firmware updates. Factory reset should only be carried out by Persona Synthetics Inc. staff.
As you can see from the trailer above it seems like viewers can go to a site and order one today.
There is even an eBay store set up to take orders.
A Sally Synth will set you back a cool £20,000* although postage is free via Express Delivery.
* This listing is restricted to pre-approved buyers only. Email the seller to be placed on that pre-approved list.
The only problem with having Persona Synthetics products delivered so they can give you the ‘help you’ve always wanted’ is that it’s all part of a campaign for new Channel 4 drama Humans.
So what is it about?
The Channel 4 drama stars William Hurt (A History of Violence), Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd), Tom Goodman-Hill (Mr Selfridge), Colin Morgan (The Fall), Rebecca Front (The Thick Of It), Neil Maskell (The Mimic) and Gemma Chan (Fresh Meat).
Hurt plays plays George Millican, a widower who has formed a close relationship with his out-of-date synth Odi, who he treats more like a son than a piece of machinery.
Parkinson plays Laura, a woman who seems to have it all – a great career as a lawyer, a loving husband, three children. But inside she’s struggling with her own unresolved demons.
Humans is set in a parallel present where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a ‘Synth’ – a highly-developed robotic servant eerily similar to its live counterpart.
In the hope of transforming the way they live, one strained suburban family purchases a refurbished synth only to discover that sharing life with a machine has far-reaching and chilling consequences.
Humans looks good and is written by British writing partnership Sam Vincent and Jonathan Brackley (Spooks, Spooks: The Greater Good).
The eight-part series is based on the award-winning Swedish sci-fi drama “Real Humans”.
Here is the latest trailer!
*Humans will broadcast later in 2015. Find out more here.
I am so excited for this! 🙂
