I love Gwen so much! She has been my idol since I was very small.. I can’t believe she has turned 45.. but what an amazing life she has had so far..
She revealed her plans for a new solo and No Doubt album at New York Fashion Week! EEEP so excited! She is going to be one busy bee this year. Gwen put on an amazing show with No Doubt recently at the 2014 Global Citizen Festival.
I’m so glad I got to see No Doubt live in LA when I was living out there last year! It was amazing!!! 😀
The blonde bombshell may well have matured her style but she hasn’t aged a day since the 90s.
Gwen’s had a long career as frontwoman of punk band No Doubt and as a successful solo artist, and now she’s reaching new heights with her fashion line and as a mother.
She’s begun work on her next solo album – the first one in eight years – and has also reunited with No Doubt to make a new record.
At 45, the sky’s still the limit for Gwen Stefani.
Gwen became a member of No Doubt in 1991 but their grunge sound was unpopular at first as it wasn’t in the mainstream. The band endured ups and downs throughout their first stint together but also produced one of their most popular songs, ‘Don’t Speak.’
By the time No Doubt had reached their third album, the band were regulars at the Grammys. Two of their singles from album Rock Steady earned them awards.
A lot of the songs that Gwen wrote were about her love life and rocky relationship with Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale. The couple married in 2002 and had two ceremonies so that Gwen could wear her custom-made gown twice.
Gwen has become known for her unusual and diverse fashion and during the 90s she wasn’t afraid to stand out. The blue hair and blue fur bikini is a particular highlight!
It looks as though she was channelling her inner Ugly Betty in this very pink shot, complete with a set of braces. Her sense of style was 1990s perfection.
After the band took a hiatus, Gwen released her debut solo album Love. Angel. Music. Baby. giving her a chance to delve further into pop music. Her biggest singles were ‘What you Waiting For?’ and ‘Hollaback Girl’ which were both chart toppers in many countries.
She released her second album in 2006, entitled ‘The Sweet Escape’, and it featured collaborations with many famous artists. Gwen has developed a good friendship with Pharrell Williams over time and he is even helping her with her new album.
The artist also tried her hand at acting, making her debut in Martin Scorsese’s The Aviator for which the cast were nominated for a SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a motion picture.
Her first son, Kingston Rossdale, was born in 2005 and she announced her pregnancy during a live performance.
The couple continued growing their family, getting temporarily in the way of any new music from the star. They had a second son, with the name Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, in 2008. She gave birth again this year to another boy called Apollo.
She continued to transform her fashion as she developed a more demure and classy style. The band had to dress up when they were invited to the White House but it rather suits her.
As well as success in music and acting Gwen has designed her own fashion line. Based on her own creations for No Doubt, she started L.A.M.B in 2004. Her clothing takes inspiration from Japanese and other cultural backgrounds. Many celebrities such as Nicole Kidman wear her line.
Working on TV was one thing we hadn’t seen from Gwen until she joined the seventh series of The Voice alongside Pharrell Williams. Gwen has said she plans to perform her new single live on the show once she’s made the tricky decision of which one will be the lead track.
The singer revealed her plans for a new solo and No Doubt album at New York Fashion Week so she is going to be one busy bee this year. To tease her fans even more, Gwen put on an amazing show with the band recently at the 2014 Global Citizen Festival.
Ahh shes so AWESOME! I want her life.. 🙂
