The Grand Budapest Hotel – Film of the year!
THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL, Wes Anderson’s latest incredible film recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend.
The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune — all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.
I watched this film yesterday after waiting ages to see it! It was AMAZING and I even cried with laughter during the Snowy Mountain scene.
My fav film was originally Moonrise Kingdom, Wes’s previous romantic comedy, but the Grand Budapest may have surpassed this and become my new fav! 🙂
It incorporates romance, death, murder, comedy, friendship, adventure and a historic style all in one film. The cast are impeccable with the likes of Tilda Swinton (Who I didn’t recognize for ages!), Adrien Brody, Saoirse Ronan, Ralph Fiennes (who was perfect in this role), Jeff Goldblum (I met in LA), Bill Murray and Jude Law to name a few. The costumes and sets are so detailed and bring the characters to life in their quirky personalities with the Wes Anderson signature, teamed with the fun quirky music, wonderful cast and stunning sets, make one truly incredible movie.
When the film was over I immediately wanted to watch it all over again! It has had a huge hype and fantastic reviews, as deserved, so don’t miss the film of the year!
